  • K.U. Naram Awards

    The K.U Naram Award has been specially instituted by the AFSTI (Association for Food Scientists and Technologists, India) for those students who stand 1st, 2nd and 3rd at College level for B.Sc. in Food Science and Nutrition, and M.Sc. in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics presented a paper at International Symposium on Community Nutrition and Health, IIT, Bombay in collaboration with NSI, Mumbai Chapter held from 7th to 9th December 2015: • Ms. Ankita Ghag – “Comparative Study of Nutritional Assessment and Body Composition in 20-25 years of age of Gujarati and Punjabi Communities in Mumbai City” • Ms. Sana Saiyed – “A study on Anthropometric Measurements, Nutritional Status and Body Composition of Night Shift BPO Executives” Ms. Farheen Inamdar made an oral presentation on “Green Chips for Obesity- a modified food product” at International conference on Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics (ICONN) Nashik on 29-30th January 2016.

  • Technological Advances in Super Foods for Health Care

    • The following students of MSc Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics participated at the ICMR, DST and DBT Sponsored International Conference on "Technological Advances in Super Foods for Health Care (ICTASH-2013)" at Pondicherry from 3rd and 6th May, 2013

  • Participation at National Level

    • Ms. Avani Shah won 1st prize in an online nutrition quiz organized at the Indian Dietetic Association Annual Conference (IDACON 2016) held on 23rd to 25th September 2016.
    • Ms. Swati Jadhav (SYBCA), Ms. Riya Barve (SYBCA) and Ms. Divya Pongde (FYB.Sc) participated in a cultural exchange program organized by SNDT Women’s University with Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with Indian National Fellowship Centre (INFC), from 5th to 10th December, 2016. Mr. Nitin Pawar (NSS PO) accompanied them as the team member. . They were part of a group of 25 students and 4 teachers from five SNDT colleges. They visited 3 college (Mount Mary College, C-Edge College and Tetso College) in Dimapur and 2 colleges (Kohima College and Japtu College) in Kohima. Students performed folk dances from Maharashtra like Lavani, Lezim and Koli dance. They made a presentation on Maharashtra state and its culture. They had the opportunity to meet the Governor of Nagaland at Raj Bhavan.

    • Students of Apparel and Merchandising Department, Won 1st prize in a Fashion Show at the "National Level Design and Technical Symposium" on the theme 'Handicraft' organized by Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering and Technology, Yavatmal on 1st March 2014.

    • Ms. Shweta Joshi presented a poster at the seminar on "Traditional Foods- Innovation and Challenges" at Institute of Chemical Technology jointly being organized by AFST (I) Mumbai Chapter and Food Engineering and Technology Department, ICT, Mumbai .
