The college won three prizes for their participation in gender sensitization programs as part of Jagar Janivancha Abhiyan - 1st prize at both District Level and University Levels and 2nd Prize at State Level. The team was felicitated and received the awards at the hands of Chief Guest Mr. Rajesh Tope, Education Minister, Govt. of Maharashtra at a function held on 20th August 2014.

Best Educational Quality Enhancement Team (BEQET) Award 2014 - 2015

The "Best Educational Quality Enhancement Team "competition was conducted by NCQM (National Centre for Quality Management) was held on 31st January, 2015 at Maniben Nanavati College, Vile Parle. This year, the faculty team of the Dept of Textile Science and Apparel Design of Dr. B.M.N. College of Home Science received 2nd Prize for their project on "Upgrading Infrastructure for enhancing Skills". The team comprised of Dr. Shilpa Charankar, Mrs. Veena Verma, Mrs. Sugandha Lad and Mrs. Pradnya Ambre.

Also at the same event, the faculty team of Smt. K.G. Shah Dept of Computer Applications received the 3rdprize for their project on "Implementation of strategies to improve and sustain enrollment". Team members comprised of Mr. Abdul Rahman, Ms. Milina Pereira, Ms. Pooja Nair, Ms. Shilpa Surulkar, Ms. Sudha Lawrence, Mr. Nitin Pawar and Mr. Yasin Mohammad.

Best Teacher Awards


Mr. Shahajahan Khan (BCA, Coordinator) was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by Lions Club, Sion for his dedicated service in the field of education, on 19th July 2014 at Shree Manav Seva Sangh.

Dr. Rashmi Vyavaharkar was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by Lions Clubs International, District 323 A1 for her dedicated service in the field of education, on 6th September, 2014.
Dr. Meenal Mokashi was felicitated for 24 years of dedicated service years by Amdar Kapil Patil of Shikshak Bharti on 6th February, 2015.

Research Grants

  • Prof Mala Pandurang completed a UGC sponsored Major Research project titled “Wives, Mothers and Others. A Socio-literary reconstruction of migration experiences of Women from the Indian subcontinent to East Africa (1890 – 1960)”.
  • Mrs. Veena Verma has been awarded a Minor Research grant for her project titled, “ Effect of Flame Retardant Finish on Tasar Silk” by UGC for the period 2015- 2017.
  • Mrs. Alka pant has been awarded a Minor Research grant for her project titled, “Enhancing Employability Skills Through Career Oriented Programs” by UGC for the period 2015- 2017.
  • Mrs. Vinaya Vaishampayan has been awarded a Minor Research grant for her project titled, “Are Food Patterns at work places different than normal” by UGC for the period 2015- 2017.
